Janet Price brings to the TURRN Board a powerful combination of lived experience, faith, and a deep commitment to successful reentry. Her passion for reducing recidivism is shaped by her own journey through incarceration at Tutwiler Prison and the Montgomery and Birmingham Women's Community-Based Facilities. This firsthand experience gives Janet a unique understanding of the challenges individuals face when returning to their families and communities and rebuilding their lives after incarceration.

Janet has also been actively involved in prison ministry, using her experiences to encourage and support others as they prepare for life beyond incarceration. A widow for more than 10 years, she remains deeply engaged in her church, where she serves as Widows Ministry Director and Prayer Coordinator. Janet brings compassion, resilience, and an authentic reentry perspective to TURRN's leadership and mission.

 Stephanie Clark brings more than 20 years of healthcare, nursing, and clinical research experience to TURRN. As a nurse educator and experienced research nurse leader, she is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and helping individuals better understand the connection between physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Her healthcare background provides a valuable perspective in promoting mental health awareness, understanding the effects of trauma, and educating others on the importance of recognizing warning signs of emotional crisis and suicidal ideation and connecting individuals with appropriate professional support.

  Fund Development & Community Partnerships

Lisa Ripp is a New Orleans-based advocate for victims of violent crime, particularly children involved in the justice system.

After surviving a brutal 1999 attack, she spent years working with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office to ensure her case was prosecuted, ultimately helping secure a life sentence for the perpetrator. Drawing from that experience, she identified the intimidating environment faced by child victims and witnesses in court settings and proposed a dedicated, child-friendly space.

She led the creation and furnishing of “Lisa’s Room” within the District Attorney’s office—a welcoming area equipped with toys, games, and comfortable furnishings designed to reduce trauma and help children feel safer while waiting or being interviewed. The initiative has been credited with supporting higher-quality testimony and improved outcomes in cases involving young victims. Ripp has also advocated for stronger support systems for crime victims and publicly encouraged survivors to come forward and testify.

Her work focuses on practical improvements to how the justice system treats vulnerable witnesses and victims.

Lisa also resided in Birmingham, Al where she served at Grace Klein Community as Community Outreach Liaison. Grace Klein Community is a Faith Based Ministry focused on food insecurity in the Birmingham Area. 

  Fund Development & Community Partnerships

Tracie brings a unique combination of lived experience, professional training, and a passion for helping others overcome barriers and rebuild their lives. Having successfully navigated reentry and remained in the community for 16 years following incarceration, she brings an important firsthand perspective to TURRN's mission.

Tracie is a Law Enforcement Chaplain and a certified peer professional with CRSS and CPS-Y credentials. She is passionate about trauma awareness, mental health, addiction recovery, and family reunification and uses her experiences to encourage and educate others facing similar challenges.

As a member of TURRN's Fund Development & Community Partnerships team, Tracie will focus on cultivating community relationships, establishing strategic partnerships, identifying fundraising opportunities, and connecting TURRN with individuals and organizations that share its commitment to successful reentry and stronger communities. Her lived experience and professional training allow her to communicate the importance of TURRN's work from both a personal and community-centered perspective.

Committee Member | TURRN

Jesse Miller brings decades of professional leadership, ministry, mentorship, and community service to TURRN.  As The Civil Engineer with the City of Birmingham, Jesse has 38 years of engineering experience and has served in ministry for 40 years.

Mentorship has been a cornerstone of Jesse’s service. Since 1991, he has provided students and interns with opportunities to shadow him and gain firsthand exposure to engineering, public service, and professional leadership. He is passionate about helping individuals become productive citizens who can contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.

Jesse also brings 30 years of prison ministry experience, providing spiritual encouragement and supporting programs within correctional facilities. In addition, he has spent more than 20 years serving individuals experiencing homelessness through community outreach.

His longstanding commitment to mentorship, prison ministry, integrity, and service closely aligns with TURRN’s mission to help justice-impacted individuals overcome barriers, recognize their potential, and successfully reintegrate into the community.

 Precious Long serves as TURRN’s Program Coordinator and a valued member of the Building Committee. With an extensive background in ophthalmology and hands-on patient care—particularly in children’s ophthalmic services—Precious brings compassion, precision, and a strong advocacy lens to her work.

She is passionate about human rights and believes in protecting the dignity and well-being of individuals and families impacted by incarceration.   Precious enjoys gardening, pottery, hiking, and listening to a variety of music—activities that reflect her balanced and creative spirit.

 Lea Townsend serves as TURRN's Admin & Media Support Specialist, bringing a strong background in research, data collection and analysis, evaluation tools, project planning, and administrative support.  Her analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to organize and present information strengthen TURRN's efforts to evaluate programs, support grant reporting, and continuously improve services for women preparing for and navigating reentry. 

Preshawn Dunn brings a powerful voice of resilience and hope to TURRN. Drawing from her personal journey of overcoming trauma, navigating grief, and advocating for herself through life's challenges, she is passionate about encouraging others to recognize their strength and embrace healing.

As a motivational speaker, Preshawn inspires individuals to prioritize self-care, identify unhealthy patterns, and remain steadfast during difficult seasons. Her authentic approach and commitment to personal growth align with TURRN's mission of empowering justice-impacted individuals to overcome barriers, build resilience, and create lasting change for themselves and their families.
